Alpha
MoneyGram and Alpha Partner for Stablecoin Payouts across Africa

We are thrilled to share that Alpha has officially partnered with MoneyGram to implement stablecoin settlements for our creator network. This partnership addresses one of the most critical challenges facing creators in Africa today: fast, low-cost, and reliable cross-border payments.
Traditional banking systems and payment gateways have long plagued African creators with high transaction fees, exchange rate losses, and delays that can last up to a week. By leveraging stablecoins (USDC) on high-speed blockchain networks alongside MoneyGram's vast payout rails, Alpha is solving these issues.
Why Stablecoins?
Stablecoins pegged to the US Dollar offer a stable, transparent store of value. For clippers and creators operating in volatile economic climates, receiving payments in stablecoins provides:
1. **Lower Transaction Fees**: Traditional wire transfers can cost up to $30 per transaction. Stablecoin payments reduce this fee to pennies. 2. **Instant Settlements**: Creators no longer need to wait days for payouts. Verified earnings are settled within minutes of approval. 3. **Local Payout Options**: Through MoneyGram, creators can easily convert their stablecoin balances directly into their local bank accounts, mobile money wallets (like M-Pesa), or withdraw physical cash at any MoneyGram agent location.
Driving Financial Inclusion
This partnership is more than just a tech integration. It is a major step toward financial inclusion for thousands of young African video editors and clippers. By providing them direct access to international brands and global payment options, Alpha is paving the way for digital creator careers to flourish.
We look forward to rolling this out to all verified Alpha creators starting next month. Stay tuned for onboarding guides and tutorial webinars in our Discord server.

Great write-up. Navigating the tax part has always been a pain, hope the guide helps clear that up.
